WATTWRIT FIELD GUIDE · U.S. CONTRACTORS

Get the project details together before permit prep begins.

Use this general checklist to organize the information WattWrit’s intended workflow uses: where the work is, which system is planned, what equipment is involved, what the site looks like, and how its electrical load is calculated.

BEFORE YOU START

Project information checklist

A practical starting point, not a permit rulebook.

  1. Record the project address and its city, county, and state. Add the permitting authority or utility context if you already know it.

  2. Describe the planned work, such as a heat pump, EV charger, solar plus storage, or electrical panel upgrade.

  3. Gather manufacturer, model, quantity, and available nameplate or product-specification information for the planned equipment.

  4. Keep clear, current views of existing electrical equipment and the areas connected to the planned work, when available.

  5. Keep the project’s load calculations and their supporting inputs or assumptions together, if prepared or available.
